on my way to the supermarket yesterday, i stumbled across Mendoza's disused railway station, walking along the track we realised that there was a huge building covered in graffiti. the graffiti covered the whole outside of the building and inside all the rooms. it was so beautiful with broken windows and falling doen ceilings. some of the graffiti was very political, protesting against the goverment. There were lots of images of che guevara. anyway, i am about to upload some pictures so take a look. i was in camera HEAVEN.
today i took part in a very strange argentine activity. in the main park in the town they hold 3 free aerobics classes a week. so we tried one out and it was absolutely hilarious! they had lots of different types of teachers including salsa aerobics, a man who seemed to enjoy getting the women to caress their chests and thrust around the park ahaha. anyway i think i will be going back to the classes, it's so funny. a crowd gathers as well to watch, no one else seemed to laugh, i think it is a very serious event.
also, i forgot to mention in my previous blog, we went to a swimming pool in town and to be allowed to enter you have to have a full body examination to check you are not contaminated. i mean pulling apart toes, behind ears and revealing our armpits. probably the strangest swimming experience ever, especially as it seemed to be a contest of who was most attractive. the argentines casually wear thong bikinis and the men strut around being alpha males. meanwhile a terrible terrible DJ was pumping out reggaeton, sort of hispanic rap. anyway, off i trot. im going to a rooftop meal/party. xxx
