Green Bay and Sheboygan
Well, Green Bay was definitely something else. We drove up there from Madison Last Tuesday. It was Rainy, cold, gray... pretty much just depressing. On top of that, you realize very quickly that Green Bay doesn't really have much to it other than a football team and stadium. We arrive at the hotel, and I thought we had just been checked into paradise. It was HUGE! Our rooms had a separate bedroom and living room. There was a full breakfast available to us every morning.
Late Tuesday night Sheldon came to visit. We slept in Wednesday morning because trying to get out of these lush beds was pretty near impossible (there were queen sized beds, which was very convenient, cause that meant I didn't have to pull out the bed from the couch). He came and saw the show, after which we went to Captain's Walk Winery with Emily. It was in a very quaint looking house, and we got to sample 7 different wines, and learned a bit about the wines and how they were made. We had a great time, and I actually hoped to go again on Friday, though that didn't quite end up happening which is ok.
That is about as exciting as Green Bay got. We had two shows on Thursday, both of which went very well. The audiences in Green Bay were incredible. I think it must just be Wisconsinites. They are so appreciative and giving! Every show was a blast, and totally worth it.
Sheboygan was a very short stay. We arrived Saturday early afternoon, explored the wonderful farmers market (I bought some homemade hummus and gorgeous flowers for my mom). We went to a diner for dinner which involved a huge meal for a mere $8... and yes, that included dessert! The weather was awful, so the rest of the evening I spent dancing in my room, organizing my finances... you know, every day stuff. Then Sunday was a gorgeous day, but of course we had two shows so I couldn't really enjoy it at all as I was in the theater all day. Mom came to Sheboygan!!! As did Nate's parents, Barbara, Melvin and Joyce. It was so wonderful of them to drive up to see the show :) It meant so much :)
PS I know my grammar and writing style in this entry is aweful. I just finished a book called "The Curious incident of the dog in the night-time" It is a wonderful book, and I highly suggest everyone read it. The reason I bring it up is that the writting is as though you are seeing it through the eyes of a mentally challenged 15 yr old... which means very simple sentances, lots of ands and well... as I literally just put it down, my brain is still in that mind set.
