Day 9 in Palau
Well, I did it good this time...got burned where the sun doesn't shine so I'm having a hard time sitting down and walking.
I did manage to go with the girls to Palau Community College and walked the track while they did their workout. I started in lane 6, did a lap, then switched to lane 5, etc. So I did 6 to 1 then back out to 6 again. I wasn't walking my normal pace, but it was still nice to get out and move around.
Shauna hit the shower first, then I went in. The cold water felt sooooo good. Before I went in to the bathroom, I grabbed a napkin and their bottle of apple cider vinegar. I ended up not using it until I got into my bedroom. I'm still sore in that area, but it went from reddish-purple to more of a reddish-pink.
So we're taking a break from the sun and heat today. I've spent most of the morning on my stomach while they were working on their computers. I seem to be somewhat ok sitting on this chair I'm on, but getting out of, or down onto, is still quite painful.
My flip video got fried yesterday and even the computer won't recognize it as a disk. I'm hoping that when I get back home I can open it and retrieve the videos of yesterday's snorkeling adventures (depending on what it saves the videos on - flash memory or ??). So now I'll go through the pictures I've taken since my last upload and get them ready for uploading - probably when I get home as
tomorrow is my last day in Palau :(
12:30 pm Palau | 8:30 pm LA
We just had lunch and I finally got to taste Rachel's world famous veggie sandwich - homemade bread and tomato pesto with lettuce, cut up carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes. They had SunChips with their lunches, I had the Spicy Blues Tortilla chips. Had a nice conversation with them.
After doing the dishes, we started to talk about what we're going to eat at The Taj tonight. I can't wait to have some Lassi with dinner. They don't have Matar Paneer, so I'll be trying one of their other dishes.

Just got back from eating a very delicious meal at The Taj but more about that in a bit.
Around 2 pm Rachel and I went out (in the rain) to go to the Post Office and then she took me to this store to get her dad a manta ray carving. Then we went into another store that had Palau souvenir stuff. They were putting up a cool wallpaper border that Rachel and I both liked, so she went off to see if they were selling it (they weren't, they had it made for the store). I ended up getting a pair of board shorts and a Palau T-shirt to wear with the shorts.
We got back home and I went and laid down on my stomach and read a little bit of the book they gave me to read for my trip home...read about a page and a half and dozed off for about 10 minutes. Got up and put on the clothes I would wear to the Indian restaurant, then halfway watched Merlin until it was over.
About 5:10 we left for the restaurant and it was well worth the wait. They don't have Matar Paneer on the menu but they made it for me - and I got a salty Lassi. We also got Rachel's favorite Jeera Alu and another dish called Vegetable Jalfrazzi...2 kinds of nan bread and some saffron rice. Because we had shown up last night when they were closed for a special event, the owner comped us an order of Vegetable Samosa's. I left very stuffed and we have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
Gonna watch the last 20 minutes of American Idol with the girls then hit the sack.
