After an uncomfortable trip on a a small and severely overcrowded bus, and with a terrible cold that made my nose like a river, we arrived at Longji Rice Terraces. The rooms were basic but nice, the only problem was it went darkearly and the evenings got very boring with only a pack of cards and chinese tv.

A local guide took us on a hike the next day and we were told they were extremely fit and could easily climb the steep rice terraces. It turned out that she was slow going uphill compared to our long western legs, but down hill she was a mountain goat and we continuosly lost our footing.

We visited 3 view points, all of which we couldn't see a thing because we were in the clouds. After arriving at our next guesthouse all 3 of us set off to explore the little village but ended up taking as many stupid pictures as possible, including the camoflaged dog rock( wait till you see the pics) .

The next day we caught the uncomfortable bus vack to Guilin and then caught our last train to Hong Kong, but only after i'd beenchased down the road by a begger trying to getsome money. Much to the amusement of the other 2.
