Up before 7am on a Sunday wasn't very nice but I couldn't sleep that well anyway with all the excitement. That's despite the fact we were up till about 1 the night before finishing packing up Lynn. We'd said goodbye to Trish (BK's mum) that night, but got back to mine too late to say bye to my mum and dad. So they were up at 7 as well to see us off, which was lovely. Becci and I were a bit edgy with each other as we set off which I guess was the nerves and the tiredness, but once we were on the road, we were cruising. Lynn was driving well and we made it to harwich with an hour to spare before our 10am ferry to Hook of holland.
Considering so many people told us how bad the ferry was we found it alright. It was lovely and sunny, and we relaxed on our own little deck that we found. The wind picked up though so we and found some seats in the news room and basically sat and watched tennis all day, with a break for formula 1 and some puzzle books. I was worried I wouldn't get to catch the Murray final, so when it came on in the little tv cinema place we were chuffed. Not so good was that we arrived in holland half way through the third set. First text we sent when we'd settled at our first overnight stop was to Becci's mum saying we'd arrived safe, and "WHO WON THE TENNIS???" It's kinda bitter sweet that we got to watch it yet missed the end.
Anyway, after finding a cash machine for some euros, we found a campsite within about half an hour, and although it was a little pricey, it was comfortable and we didn't wanna go straight to roughing it (Becci needed a roughing buffer). It was lovely and it was a short walk to the big, sandy, sunny, if a little windy, beach. Back at the van we cracked out the stove for the first time for a quick pasta and called it a night. All in all, a pretty successful day! Let the adventure begin! Toodles!
Bosh! x x
