Due to the many exciting things to see and do in Rome I haven't been able to update this blog so i'm going to try catch up in one go! We arrived in Rome on the Thursday at around 1 and had to wait for check-in at 3pm. Luckily they had a luggage storage area so off we went to walk around. Had to get up super early this morning to make it to our day cruise (0930...). Went and got bread and fruit for breakfast and caught the train into Sorrento. Had a very boring day so far today, woke up around 10, got some chocolate filled crossants for breakfast then headed to Sorrento to catch a ferry to the Island of Capri which is just off the coast. Took a day trip to the ruins of Pompei, had a long exhausting walk around in the sun. Such amazing architecture and really cool frescos! A very beautiful and serene place to be =) Walking back to the train station we got offered a trip to Mt Vesuvius for pretty cheap so decided to take it on a whim, more climbing and walking and we were at the top of the massive mountain which caused so much destruction! Went for a trip to the main town of Sorrento (We are staying one town over in Sant' Agnello). Decided to walk there as it was supposed to take about 20 mins or so, ended up getting lost and walking down through this steep cliff to a local swimming beach. Was very packed as it was super hot and it was Sunday =) Had a good time walking among all the small side streets and back alleys with lots of amazing shops!
