Due to the many exciting things to see and do in Rome I haven't been able to update this blog so i'm going to try catch up in one go!

We arrived in Rome on the Thursday at around 1 and had to wait for check-in at 3pm. Luckily they had a luggage storage area so off we went to walk around. We made it down to the colosseum and to this other random church before heading to a supermarket for a much needed drink of water! After checking in and having a bit of a break (A few hours...), we decided to walk to the river for dinner. The river I would say is one of the most beautiful places in Rome, especially at night time when all of these market stalls and pop-up restaurants appear all along the banks! After a massive burger and a beer we went for a walk along the river and then back to the hostel. One thing to note so far: You can do a lot of walking in Rome!

The next day we decided to see all the major sites outside of the Vatican, i.e. the Pantheon, Forum ruins, war memorial building and Trevi fountain =) The weather was really good for all that walking, nice and breezy with a fair amount of clouds, until it started raining! Got a bit wet so ducked into a pizzeria for lunch to avoid the rain! Milly managed to run into some friends she knew from Star Beach in Crete who invited us along to the pub crawl run by our hostel. For the 20 euro's we paid I don't think it was really worth it but I had a great time all the same!! Met a very nice Danish girl called Pernille who I hung out with for most of the night, ending up back at the hostel around 0430 =)

The next morning after about 3.5 hours sleep I decided to go on a walking tour of the Vatican and St Peters with Pernille. Running from 12 till 3 this felt like so much longer due to the previous night, even though it was an amazing place to visit! Everything there is so opulent and over the top though lol! Was time for a sleep after all that walking and then went out to the riverfront for dinner =) The weather was a lot colder this night but I got to wear my cool new waistcoat! Had a really nice fresh fish for dinner right next to the water and then walked along the shops with Pernille, stopping for a drink at an awesome place with cushion seats =) Got back to the hostel much earlier that night, about 0130 lol...

That brings me to today! After 2 hours on a train from Rome to Naples and an hour to here we are back in the relaxed town of Sorrento! Our new place has a pool and the room we are staying in is half empty =D Not sure what to do now, maybe have a swim before dinner =)
