hello lovely people! well many said i wouldnt like mission beach... they obviously didnt stay where i am! its lovely - although truly rivals the humidity of mexico in august!!!!!!! the hostel is awesome, leaving this morining for cairns though. the couple that owned it, purpose built it, and so much detail has gone into it - its bright and colourful, there are scary aboriginal statues everywhere, frogs, geckos and fish all over the walls, the pool is great with pictures on the bottom, theres a tv room with very comfy sofas and a matress with cuddly toys on etc - very homely which makes a nice change!
so the first day was literally chillaxing on the beach where there was a stinger net, so we could go in the sea which i was very happy about, and the beach looked looked like a desert island type beach, palm tree lined and no one on it. then yesterday i went whitewater rafting on the tully river which was just so so so much fun, definately one of the highlights of the trip! had a raft with 3 of my mates and a random who was a bit weird, and the guide was possibly the most chilled out person i have ever met, it was so funny going down these grade 4 rapids with a guide who looked like he was going for a stroll in the park! lol. sarah bought the cdrom with all the photos on so when she puts them up on facebook i'll stick them on here.
so although there is literally nothing to do here at mission beach, ive had a great time, and going to just chill by the lagoon style pool all day (fine with me) until my bus to cairns, where i am meeting like all of the people ive met along the coast for a big party- somehow we have all ended up getting there at the same time, so tonight should be a good one!
anyway i will update again soon, hope you are all well and happy!lots of love xxxxxxxx
