So I sat next to three cheetahs. Yup. Cool I know. Steph's parents took us all out to Naankusa, which is just outside Windhoek. This was on Sunday. We had a massive buffet lunch with rather amazing food. I took a picture of the cakes, Orange cakes with caramel icing, meringues, chocolate and mint crisp mousse! So yeah, lunch was good, and left me with a food baby for the remainder of the day.
Catherine and myself have really been wanting to see cheetahs and it was the one thing left in Namibia that still had to be done. There was a sanctury in Otjiwarongo, but we didn't stop there for long enough to go and see them.
At NaanKusa ( which is a sanctury for wild animals ) they have three cheetahs in an enclosure who have been brought up there since cubs, so they are all tame! Werner (Stephs dad) asked if we could go and see them. And for about 16 pounds each we got to go into the enclosure with the cheetahs. They are all siblings, Kiki, Ika and Isha! I was face to face with them, it was amazing. I didn't actually think that it would be such an amazing experience. But it was, and well worth the little money that we had to pay. The cheetahs just lay there purring (very loud) They didn't seem to care much about having people right next to them - that is until one basically lashed out at Steph (she is perfectly fine though!) This was the male cheetah that did this! It was great fun! After a while though the cheetahs defintiely got bored and started to wonder off. Pretty laid back creatures - We were also told that they are half dog, half cat. Whether that is in how they act, or their genetics - I do not know.

A concerned geneticist. It's cause of how they act. Otherwise, very much enjoying your blogs.
