I just thought you would all appreciate this.

So yesterday, we got up early, at about seven! Steph, whom we are staying with, was at school and both her parents had left for work already. So it is just me and Catherine in the house. I was put in charge of locking up... This is already set out to be a disaster!

Steph's grandad came to fetch us, as he was taking us into town to book a bus. I locked up as I had beed told, thinking that everything had gone smoothly!

I was mistaken. To open the gate at Steph's house you have to press one of two buttons, there is a blue on (which I now know sets off the alarm, and a green on which opens the gate. I didn't know what these buttons did) I first pressed the blue one, therefore turning the alarm on, I didn't know I had because nothing happened! Then I pressed the green, the gate opened and everything had been fine.

While we had been out Steph's maid, Vekka, had come to the house and the alarm had gone off. She does not have a key. This resulted in the armed forces coming to the house, and Vekka having to explain to them that she was not a burglar, she nearly got arressted.

We came back to a not so happy African Lady.
