So that has been me back home for about nine months, and we are back in Namibia already.
First year at uni is over, I have met a lot of wonderful people and had some good times! Iit has flown by!
Coming back home, I felt like I hadn't left and that my year in Otjikondo had been a fantastic dream. It was honestly to date, the best year of my life. So many memories; good and bad, but all worth it. Catherine and Myself always said that we would come back, I think we both need closure, as our last few days at Otjikondo were so hectic and rushed, that we didn't even get everything we had started finished. This trip back to Namibia will give us a definite end as I do not think that we have ever felt that we actually left this beautiful country. Although, we will definitely be back for another visit at some point in the future.
Arriving back in Namibia, as expected, we felt as if we had never left. Everything is so familiar and just feels like another home to us. I still do not feel like I am in Africa, I just feel like I am back in my second home with my second family. We are only on day five, but already I am beginning to settle. We have spent the last few days at our friend Steph's house, who are basically out Namibian family. Unfortunately our plan to get a beautifully golden tan (though sadly i tend to look like I have plastered myself in fake tan when i am in the sun) But anyway, our tans are set out to fail. It was 17 degrees today. I am sitting in tights and a big wooly jumper! Enough said.
We arrived a few days earlier than Steph's mum expected to give her a birthday surprise. I have never seen such a reaction. She practically jumped, crouched and screamed! It was hilarous. I am so glad we did it. Over the last few days we have been just been getting back into the rate of African life and trying to organise out trip to Otjikondo. We will hopefully be heading there for about two weeks at some point text week. Everything is a little unpradictable. All we know is that we have to be back at Stephs house for the 28th as they have organised a surprise for us.
Anyway I shall keep you posted. Our Brownies are just out the over :D yum.
Catch you all later,
TIA
