Day 16 (6 of Intrepid trip) - 16th November 2008 - HomestayToday we left Kompong Cham behind and drove by public bus to the capital Phonm Penh. Here we changed to a mini bus to get to our home stay at Cambok (two hour's drive from Phonm Penh). The road again was non-existent and the homestay was 'rural' too say the least. We eventually made it to our homestay which was actually a lot nicer than I had imagined. It was a wooden hut, sitting on stilts.Inside it was clean and tidy, there were actually two homes next to each other, one for the ladies and the other for the lads.We headed off into some kind of a country park, where we went to a little hut and three local ladies had laid on a really nice dinner for us.We came equipped with a polystyrene box, a lump of ice and lots of Angkor beers (tasty local lager). After several cans and a tower of beer we headed off in the minibus. We were then dropped off at another local house (which is also used as a homestay, although they are rotated). There we actually did some Cambodian karaoke and continued drinking. The tower of beer cans got even taller and we got a lot drunker.Due to limited resources drinking games included using flip-flops, and disco lights via camera flashes and torches. All in all it was actually a really good laugh, we all had a good time.We had to sleep on the floor, while the girls got beds, although I managed to sleep like a log, until getting woken up at 6 by the array of farm animals living under and around the house. After some local breakfast, we clambered into the bus and headed for the beach!!
