Day 2
Arrived in Johannesburg, our holiday representative met us off the plane and escorted us through passport control and onto our internal flight to Cape Town. After a quick one and a half hour flight we were in the Mother City! We arrived at the Liberty Lodge and were met by the owner Ruth (reminded me of everyone's mad aunty) who welcomed us and asked us of our plans! After explaining I had planned everything to the hour she kindly smiled and said "that's nice dear"! The room is very nice and clean, and has access to a shared balcony over looking Table Mountain. After a quick un-packing we headed out in a taxi to Camps Bay at the recommendation of Jon and Marica for some "sundowners" at the Bungalow. Our taxi driver was a minister of the Anglican Church who as it happens studied in the UK, he also thought that if Jesus came back to earth he would have chosen taxi drivers as his followers! Food at The Bungalow was fantastic! I had prawns followed one of the best rib eye steaks I have every had! Fi had a prawn cocktail with avocado and chilli chicken breast, both of which I have to cook on my return as they were fantastic!!! Looking forward to sleeping in a real bed tonight ! Finished off the evening with a complementary sherry on the balcony, perfect first day!
