October 2, 2012 - monkeying around!
Since the weather was going to be unpredictable during our stay, I did some research on some kid-friendly indoor activities and found Monkey Joe's - a bouncy play structure heaven for kids under 12. They even had an under 3 section. So off we went on our 3rd day. We had some difficulty finding the place, so much so that I thought maybe we had made a mistake, but that was all forgotten once we got there. The place was filled with inflatable structures of all sizes as well as a section filled with midway games. Once we checked in and got our bracelets, Mateo took off like a shot! Since I didn't have socks (a requirement for getting onto the structures) it was up to Ben to help Mateo get up the ladders to the slides. Mateo was absolutely fearless! Of course he wanted to do the big slides and he could not be dissuaded! He flew down those slides with a huge grin on his face! He went full tilt for over an hour, his hair and face all sweaty - I could barely get him to stand still enough to get some water in him! Needless to say he loved Monkey Joe's!
Another nap followed a quick lunch. I took this time to head to Target and a few other stores. I've never been an extra driver on any of the rental cars we've had in the past, but we thought it might be a good idea for this trip since we could both maximize nap time with some off site shopping. I of course had some success at Target, Marshall's and Ross and then headed home.
That night we went out for another special dinner. Since we thought Mateo was still too small to appreciate the Disney parks (not to mention the length of time we would be there would not justify the cost), we wanted to give him as much exposure to Disney as could, so off to Downtown Disney we went again. This time we had reservations at T-Rex, a dinosaur themed restaurant. It was amazing and very similar to the Rainforest Cafe. This time, there a "meteor shower" every 30 minutes and again Mateo would clutch my neck, but didn't make a fuss otherwise.
Another great day!
