Hi John Pate! I was checking Facebook and saw that your trip was stopped by a forest fire. Hope the delay wont be long! Imagine meeting someone from Athens with a relative that taught in Monroe! I wanted to tell you that you run into Athens people EVERYWHERE. I had a similar experience when I was hired to team teach in a Korean Catholic school and met the other teacher. She was a recent UGA grad in Korea with her husband too!
Your travelog is marvelous and I love the pictures too! Thanks so much for sharing your adventure :)
Hugs!

Yay! I got my wish, thanks for posting those fantastic photos. I especially love the one of you on the rock in the water with the vista behind you. Now you have a set of photos - one of you and the one of your bro I took of him at Glacier. You should get yours enlarged and framed for your Mom. I bet she would like that.
And yes, that is the Icefield I was talking about. Glad you got the chance to see it. I bet you will see some more pretty soon. When we were at Jasper the mountain goats in the parking lot were licking the salt from the sides of trucks parked there. Apparently they put salt on the roads to melt the snow. (something we Southerners don't have to worry about) Kind of funny to watch.
Remember not all your days can be as remarkable as Banff. That is why it is so very special. But there will be more sights to see, and share more pictures so we can see too!
Thanks for taking us all along with you. Love love love, Janebo

That should have read "too" quickly. I didn't do my proofreading before submitting.
Keep up the grand work!

Guess you gotta have a day of nothingness to soak up all the other good stuff. Like watering a plant to quickly. It needs time to soak it up instead of draining to the bottom and evaporating. How's about THAT for an analogy. :o)
Aunt Olga
I guess it doesn't matter if you experience or expierence - just have fun!
I hope y'all have a good day today. We'll be out playing golf.

Really awesome pictures!! (Too much snow for us)- we're really enjoying expierencing it with you. We love the pictures of the mountains and the animals. Have a great time with your explorations!
We sat out on our patio this afternoon in our 90+ degree weather (under an umbrella) and thought about you all. You will have to come experience Louisiana when you get back home.
Mom
It's official, I'm pea-green with envy. How awesome to see what you are seeing. If it wasn't on my list before, it is now.
Keep it coming, honey. Everyone is loving it!
Dad
well, you know what you've done...... set a new mark for us all: sharing your trip daily. a most excellent job!
I'm curious about other things such as traffic, people, road conditions, etc. The map looks like you're going into the wild! Keep track of the gas situation! I bet your truck fits in well up there. Has anyone noticed the Georgia license plate?
Keep your eye on the prize (Denali)!

How very nice to have the "bookend" effect on your trip. Also to make acquaintances along the way who can help with the conditions of the upcoming road.
We don't have nearly the excitement here, but....we did catch 3 speckled trout and enjoyed them for supper. I do like the dining descriptions.
Keep up the good work,
hugs,

I'm so glad you got to see Banff - that is a great place. Now hopefully you will continue up 93 so you can see the Athabasca Glacier Icefield.
Post more pix please!
Lots of love, Janebo
