My internet connection varies by location and time of day. At work, the electricity will go out periodically throughout the day. Typically the backup generators will power everything on within a few minutes.

The temperature today was around ninety and the backup generators at work both failed. It took a few hours to fix them and turned out to be bad fuel filters. In the meantime ninety degrees and work were not a good mix, especially in business attire.

We are having a few account executives in this week and I spent most of the day with the first. He is an American but has been on several international assignments and has lived in South Africa for the past few years. I also met the other IBM manager that is located in the DRC as he was back in South Africa last week. It was good to get their perspectives on Africa and the city as well. To my surprise, I had ventured out more in the past week then he had in the past two months.
