Took a trip with my driver today to see the Bonobos. The further we drove, the worse the roads became. First decent paved roads, then paved roads with pot holes, then washed away roads with little pavement, to dirt roads, to washed away dirt roads, etc. We enjoyed lunch at a local weekend retreat and then on to Lola Ya Bonobo.

This journal is meant to document my experiences in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I hope to record general feelings and unique events on a daily basis. I have had a longing to work in Africa for nearly fifteen years and heavily pursued this opportunity when it presented itself. My interest in Africa is generated from a calling I have felt from our Lord. I do not know what plans he has for me, but I am hear now as his hands and feet.
