Another fantastic day at Byron bay. After breakfast me, Sammie, Tom, Nele & Stefan who has recently arrived in our room. He is from Vancouver. So lots of ice hockey talk with him. Anyways the 5 of us go to the beach. It's so nice and hot. Us 3 boys play with the football on the beach and in the sea for a good hour or so. The sea is so warm and refreshing. As it starts approaching midday we go back to the hostel for lunch and take shade during the hottest part of the day. Then at around 2:30/3:00 we walk to the lighthouse and visit the most easterly point of Australia. It's one heck of a walk. The whole journey there and back takes us about 3 hours. It's so beautiful and scenic. Supposedly it's quite common to see dolphins in the sea from the coastal path but we don't see any. We all take a lot of photos. The girls head back as soon as we reach the lighthouse and us lads venture around the scenic paths a bit more. My right knee is in a lot of pain going down steps which is quite annoying. It's not even my bad knee. I think I'm just getting old. The pain is worth enduring anyway. Back at the hostel it's spaghetti bolognaise for dinner which is just fantastic. I love it. Straight after dinner there's a quiz night. About 12 different teams enter. Me, Sammie, Stefan, Tom & Nele form a team. Amazingly we come 2nd and win a $30 bar tab which we must use tonight so get 3 jugs of beer to celebrate. The game takes just over 2 hours to complete. It was a lot of fun. Today has been a tiring day. I finally get showered and into bed at about midnight. The Swedish girls are drinking and going out again. They are party animals. I should sleep well tonight.
