Hi Everyone
So I know it has been a while since I have put a journal on my web and while I have got the chance I thought I would.
I have posted some new pictures which you probably would have already looked at. They are of my time with Sean and Shelly and also of my time away at the Rainbow Serpent Festival 2007!!! What a fantastic time I had at both. It was lovely to get to know Sean and Shellie!!!!
Rainbow Serpent festival…WOW is all I can say. What a fantastic 4 days that was. I have never felt so dirty and so happy all at the same time. The music was played 24/7 and it pumped through your heart while you were sleeping hence I didn’t get much sleep at all!!!! So we arrived on the Friday and went to put up the tents, I had bought a cheap one for me and a couple of the kids to sleep in, as I went with Rachel, Dom and all the kids. Sean and Shellie had leant me a tent also and when we went to put it up there were no poles with it!!! Well I just laughed it was so funny!!! So the first night Dom made a make shift tent and slept under that and it rained so I think he got a bit wet!!!! Luckily someone had a spare tent so we were ok!!! I had Kelly and Jay in the tent with me and we had such a great time……I was staying up late with the older boys Calvin and Jay and then getting up early with Kelly so all in all getting about 2 hours sleep a night. It was such good fun and we all had a ball!!! The toilets were gross and smelt fowl as they were water saving ones and used no water you had to use saw dust instead!! No showers and no sinks!!! So let me tell you I could not wait to get back and jump in the bath I was covered from head to toe in dust…it was so dusty out there and in everything you ate and everything you drank was dust not nice at all!! But I coped and I just let my hair down and didn’t care what I looked like or how I smelt!! Everyone was in the same situation so no one cared!!! It was a real hippie place and everyone was sooooo nice!! Because of all the dust, there was a death, a women with kids who was an asthmatic….it was so sad, and there was a small circle made with branches where her tent had been, so me and Rachel got some flowers and went and had a moment!!! It just made me realise how lucky I am and how short life is and I just want to let you all know how much I love you all as you all know we don’t say it enough, so when you read this just let the people in your life know how much you care as you never know what is round the corner!!!!
On a happier note at the moment I am working at a place called Mitre 10 Mega, it is a hardware shop exactly the same as B&Q I have been there nearly 2 weeks and am loving every minute of it. The people are all so friendly and it is a really laid back work environment…a lot different from work back in England, no stress !!! Shellie got me the job as she is the accountant their. I will be working right up until my friend comes out on the 18th March so it works out to be about 6 weeks worth of work. I am so glad I got the opportunity to work and to earn a bit of extra cash!!! I am working as a check out girl on the registers but I also do a lot of work on the service desk attending to refunds and all enquiries…quite funny really when I don’t know my way around the shop yet!!! But its all good fun!!! If it wasn’t and I wasn’t enjoying myself as much as I am then trust me I wouldn’t be doing it!!! The only down side is that I have to catch the bus to work which is over half an hour and before that I have to walk to the bus stop and that takes about 20mins so I have to leave to get to work about an hour and half before I actually start...so I must enjoy it to be doing all of that!!!!
I am still at Bobby and Ross’ and will be here until my friend comes out. They have said she can stay here before we go away and also after the tour so I am sooo grateful you would not believe.
I have now booked my return flight home. I get back into the UK on Friday 4th May at 1.30pm, and I can’t wait I think I am more excited about coming home than I was about coming out here. I know that probably sounds weird!!!
I think I have really done myself proud being out here, I have done and will be doing everything I planned, and I think a lot of you thought I would only last a couple of weeks ha ha!!! Well didn’t I show you by the time I get back to the UK I would have spent 7 months out here and have learnt so much about myself and moved on with my life in so many ways…I just can’t wait to see you all and show you all how much I have grown and become independent and a lot happier!!!!
Well that’s about it really no other news to tell you all. Just keep me posted with all the news I love hearing from you all.
Take care
See you very very very soon
