I went snowboarding today and I absolutely LOVED it!!!! Went up to Mt Hutt with Georgie, Mary-Ann, Damian and Matt, and I had my first snowboarding lesson ever!!! Fell over lots but had got the hang of it by the afternoon, and managed to do a whole (baby) slope without falling over (until I got the the very bottom) so cant wait to go again when we get to Wanaka and/or Queenstown.
Was supposed to go yesterday as well but the weather was too bad, so we all went to the Antarctica Centre instead; which was quite 'cool' (cool, ha ha, see what I did there??!!) and we had to wear snow jackets to experience blizzard conditions and went on a snowmobile ride thing.
Christchurch is lovely and pretty - there is a cute little tram that circles the city centre so went on that, and also went to the Christchurch Art Gallery, which gave me lots of inspiration....
Off on the Kiwi Experience (FT) bus tomorrow which should be a lot of fun. Going to go round most of the South Island, but not all of it, and am going back up through the North Island to Auckland (it's called the Dog Leg Pass with the Milford Sound add-on Pass) on it so I can pick up the stuff I have left at Miki's house.
Having a great time, but am REALLY achey from all the snowboarding today - I can hardly move my legs... NOT looking forward to getting up at 6am to get the bus at 7am in the morning!! Honestly, us backpackers have it tough you know: its not all late nights and lie-ins!!!!
