After Melbourne we headed down to Hobart for a couple of days. We were not expecting it to be as cold as it was - I know it is their winter but wow it was so cold. Nic and I had all of our layers on and we were still freezing.
We only had one full day on the island and we really wanted to visit port Arthur (a site where the convicts used to be sent to jail - what an exciting day hey)- we had met a guy on the bus from the airport to the hostel so decided to all hire a car and go on a road trip toghether. Port Arthur was so pretty, far too nice for convicts we thought. We had a guided tour around and went on a little boat trip to see the island where juvenile offenders were kept and to have a look around the area from the water. Considering the rather depressing topic, the day was really lovely and the location was so beautiful. That night we all went on a ghost tour of the prison grounds - they are said to hold australias most haunted house!! Our tour guide told us lots of stories about different things that have happened to people and about all of the ghosts that are suppose to live there - we didn't see anything out of the ordinary but it was fun scaring ourselves!
The next day we were up really early for our flight back to Sydney.
