Magnetic Island was really beautiful, like most of the beaches on the east coast the island was made up of beautiful bays. There were so many bays that all looked the same - we hired a moke one day (mini. open top, vintage car (old banger)) and drove around visiting all of the accessible beaches and coves. We went on a three day Whitsunday sailing trip to see some of the 74 islands and get a chance to snorkel around the reef. We left from Airlie Beach which was not really a very big place but filled with backpackers - i think it was built for backpackers who were off on a Whitsundays trip! After Noosa we headed north to Hervey Bay where we had our 3 day 2 night tour over to Fraser Island. We went on a group self 4WD trip which was lots of fun, and there were 11 of us in total. We were advised to visit Noosa by Emma and Scott. Since then we had also heard lots of good things about the place and we were keen to see it for ourselves.
