We had a four day rock and canyon trip in the outback. it was a completely different experience to an yting we have done so far. The outback is so red and there are so many flies - our head nets that Nic loves were just so hand, I dont think I would have got off of the bus without mine.
We saw Ayres rock at sunset and sunrise and went on a base walk around it to see how big it really was. There is also a set of huge rocks not far from Ayers rock called the Olgas that Nic and i hadn't heard about until now. We went quad biking at Kings canyon which was really fun and our instructor looked like Leonardo Di Capiro! We also went on a lovely walk up Kings Canyon which was beautiful and so mars like! We slept out under the stars in our swags (check us with our terminology) with the rest of our group - was like a school camp. At the end of the trip we all got to go to a reptile show - was lucky it was at the end of the trip or else there would have been no sleeping outside for me as we were told about all of the dangerous snakes and lizards that live in the bush. Nic and I held a Boa and a big fat lizard. There was a crazy mum there that asked for the Boa to be wrapped around her daughter's neck and she was taking photos and then she had it put onto the buggy of her baby!!!!
Next it was on to Melbourne.
