I (Jo) am really loving it here in New Zealand, we have done and seen so much and there is still so much more to see - the south island for starters. In Taupo (where Nic did her bungy jump) we had a free day so decided to go on a trek across Mount Tongariro. It was quite a tough walk but was rewarding in the end and we were all pleased that we did it (well at least I think we are). The next day we carried on our trip to a place called River Valley which was a small adventure lodge in the middle of nowhere - we had to be sure to stock up on provisions as there really were no facilities near by. The next morning Nic and I went white water rafting on a grade 5 river (the whole wet suit thing again), although the rapids were only grade 4 that day (Alex you would have been proud)... We both loved it and would love to do it again if we get the chance. There are some parts though that I would rather not do again - we had to jump off of a mahusive rock into the rapids. I wouldn't jump and the guy had to take me to a smaller rock where jumping still took me about half an hour (a little dramatic) and then I couldnt speak for a good five minutes once back in the boat - why do I do these things to myself!!!!! We did have some quite bad news that day too as one of the girls that went horse riding with Bec and Carys fell off and broke her arm - she ended up in hospital and is now back in Auckland recovering.
The next stop was Wellington although we didnt end up seeing much of the city as the night we arrived we went out with all of the guys from our bus and didnt get home until 5am. The next day we did attempt to go to a museum but we were all so tired that we ended up going back to the hostel (after only a short visit) to have a nap that turned into a 4 hour sleep !!!! I do think Wellington seemed quite nice though.
