Hey guys! Ive heard a few of you are getting restless about me updating my blog so here I go..... The flight to Delhi was long and ermmm...'adventurous'... It took around 8 hours to get to Delhi of which around 30 minutes I spent sleeping, as soon as I woke up I felt extremely ill so I went for a walk to the back on the plane where I had to sit down and then an air hostess fed me mango juice and sugar and I felt brilliant! So I had breakfast on the plane Croissants (if thats how you spell it) and other random nice things.
In Delhi we queued up for ages just for some men with guns to tell us we werent terrorists, thanks! Me and Connor then decided we wanted to have a lie down on these SINGLE beds they have over looking the runway which was pretty cool then we got a lift from a guy in a buggy all the way to terminal 6 to catch our flight to Kathmandu...
Nothing much happened on that 2 hour flight that I knew about because I slept through most of it but we got to Nepal safely and then checked all our bags etc through and when we got outside a man who looked like he worked at the airport insisted he take my suitcase to the coach and then insisted I gave him English paper money the cheeky git! He got a quid and liked it! The bus journey was terrifying and also amazing the roads are just madness you just have to run for it when you want to cross, its like playing chicken as a kid all over again!
We got to the hotel and it was pretty basic, but lets face it, I wasnt expecting much but all the food was just curry and after what happened on the plane I wasnt going anywhere near that so I just hung out with the rest of the guys on the roof watching the Kathmandu traffic and at 11pm its like rush hour in England! So for the rest of the time in the hotel I hardly ate anything, a bit of rice here, a spoonful of dry or soggy cornflakes there, theres no inbetween you get them dry or you get them soggy.
Anyways forget the hotel now because im in Sirutar and lets be frank about this, its the most beautiful place I have ever laid eyes on, just last night we were hanging out on Chloe and Charlye's roof and it was so clear we were just staring at the sunset over the Himalayas. GOD they were beautiful. The people here are erm, different, Im not sure if its in a good way or a bad way yet, but the people here dont seem to have seen any1 as tall or as wide as me ever before, randomers keep coming round to my home stay just to catch a glimpse of the giant in the spare room (me). The family are ok I guess but I think I would of preferred to share a homestay so I could have a bit of a laugh. All I get asked is, how much do you weigh? How tall are you? Why are your muscles so big (what muscles?! I know)? Do you eat curry (NO!)? So when it gets to about half 7-8 o'clock I lock myself in my room and cry myself to sleep, haha joking, I text the other guys, speak to the mother sometimes, write my diary and listen to music and by the time it gets to 9-9:30pm I'm knackered so I sleep for about 10 hours which would be good... if I had a mattress (How do you spell that word)?! But the food is going down better here now, Jam and Chapattis rule, and Im quite enjoying myself I think :) Ill update this again in a week or so, tara guys! x
