At least the flight was at 8:30am and not 6am but we still had to leave Ngorongoro Crater Lodge at 7am. The driver told us it was a 1½ -hour drive, which would put us there just barely on time. In route we encountered a big delivery truck whose brakes failed causing it to block the 1½ lane dirt road along the crater rim. No problem for our driver, he just shifted into 4-wheel drive, up the roadside embankment and back down to the road. Pulled up 5 minutes before the Cessna landed which is plenty of time at airstrips vs airports. Good news it was a calm flight to Lobo, which is located at the beginning of the Serengeti. Our driver with a 6 passenger, no sides, stadium style seating safari van was waiting on us. It was a scenic drive to the camp seeing giraffes, zebras and hundreds of wildebeests, which are the early part of the migration, along the way. We also saw a lion, hiding in the riverbed waiting on the wildebeests to migrate cross the river so he could capture one. Klein's camp is comprised of 10 cabins with rustic, African hunting lodge décor. They are placed on a high plateau jutting off the mountain giving you 180 degree view up the Serengeti, and all cabins along with bar and dinning room, have the same panoramic view.
