Ciao, come' sta (hi and how are you). Well oggie (today ) is the last day of the hard stuff on our walking trip, our guide Marcello is taking us by van to a little village by the name of Bomerano to start our walk. We are excited as we begin straight away with a down hill stage, this is good we all think, but alas we have been tricked, after about 15 minutes our walk really starts.there new picture in the Amalfi album that show some the terrine we all were climbing. I'm sure that the Italian people believe they are related to mountain goats because these tracks we walk are not your usual walking tracks they are more for rock climbing. The only consultation for us all was that this walk had the most Bella ( beautiful ) views we have seen so far.Shirley again was on her best rock climbing game and was able to over come her fear of heights as we walked along the tracks that were over 1000meters above ground, on tracks just wide enough for one person over steep ascents and descents where you virtually had to crawl to continue the journey, without a rail to be seen. The total length of today's walk was 7.6ks.Our lunch break was in the town of Nocello where Marcello had arranged a lovely traditional Italian meal, salad pasta bread, olive oil and balsamic, bellisimo(very beautiful),slow service but we are on hols so it really didn't matter, some prosecco and some beer and off we set again this time down to the bottom to a town by the name of Positanio. How to get there is the question on every ones lips, the answer 1700 steps.
Shirley, di and I agreed that although we are not as fit as we once were, we are still bloody dam fine.the only good thing about 1700 steps is the finish and what waits for us all, more prosecco and grande'(large beer).
Arrivederci.
