Tonight we indulged in some fine dinning I will let Shirley describe what our taste buds found.
Firstly the view was amazing..... all the red roofs of Rome and Saint Peters lit by the reddest sun set and then the fading light .......awesome. Secondly the service was attentive, friendly and charming. The guy we had was called Antonnio and he was so cute.
Ah the food.....amuse bouche was frozen melon wrapped in prosciutto, lobster and sushi wrapped in salmon and carrot and celery shot. Fantastic...very fresh and light.
We had scallops with passionfruit foam and followed by beet root risotto with pomegranate ...bursts of flavor and succulent quail....then very fishy fish....red mullet well cooked but not to my liking...,,OMG followed by fois GRAS with a rhubarb chutney sitting on a very fine rosewater jelly. The carnivorous course was veal (overdone) the chef obviously doesn't like cooking meat, was wrapped in pastry and served with potato and asparagus...nice accompaniments.
Dolce followed...apricot tartin served with eucalyptus (yes tree oil from aussie) and caramel sauce....amazing...I was much surprised. Also, because I had mentioned that I was celebrating my birthday, a Candle was placed on top with the piano guy playing happy birthday and cute Antonio giving us special sticky wine from Sicily.... Coffee was great and unfortunately I couldn't fit in the petit fours....but John did.... all in all a wonderful memorable experience!
To view some of this tantalizing experience please check out the hotel Eden abum under photos.
Ciao.
