26/10/10 Vang Vieng to Vientienne (Orchid hotel)
All exhuasted today after tubing and the storm. We all got the bus to Vientienne today Vang Vieng but they will hopefully catch us up tommorrow. The tuk tuk came to take us to the bus station, they can't count in Laos there were at least 10 people already in it and then 8 of us had to get in, all ended up in the front cab. When we reached Vientienne we had to say goodbye to our friend Sam as he was off to Vietnam, he was driven away from us standing on the back of the tuk tuk waving, was very emotional.
Found somewhere to stay and then all went out for dinner, we were all pretty sudude and were going to have an early night, but then we had a message from the other boys saying they were on their way to meet us, and all of a sudden a night of Ring of fire had been planned and no one was going to bed early.
Got told off alot for making so much noise playing ring of fire, the actually wanted us to leave the hotel, they are so moody here in Laos.

Vientienne
Had a lie in after last nights Ring of Fire (ROF). Vientienne looks alot nicer in the day light, its quite a pretty city, french colonial buildings again, fountains, a mini arc di triumph. Visited a scandanvian bakery for breakfast, I love that the French occupied Laos, because as a result I get to eat amazing cakes and pastries.
All visited the buddha gardens which is a place where there are all statues and scupltures of buddhas, we were all climbing on them (which your allowed to do), and havin funny pictures taken, saw a pretty bad motorbike accident on the way home which was pretty scarey.
All decided to go bowling tonight at the local alley. Decided to incorporate whiskey shot fines into the game. Bowling will never be the same again. Shots were dealt out for strikes, half strikes, double 00. Had an amazing night again, went through 4 bottles of whiskey.
28/10/10 Vientienne - Pakse
Leaving tonight on the sleeper bus, so all chilled out on the internet today and sorted out hair cuts and money, normal boring stuff. Had to say goodbye to 2 of the group, Georgia and Sarah, going to miss them so much, there were tears. Got picked up a tuk tuk, again they can't count, the biys had to stabd on the back which I think they secretly enjoyed. The sleeper nus was nothing like we imagined, my friend James has to sleep next to a monk!

Aunty Vivvy Sleeper bus sounds fun. That was an experience for James sleeping next to a monk. Who did you sleep next to. This whiskey is getting to be a habit. £9 a litre in Tesco at the moment, shall I get you a stock in? We will have to go bowling when you get home. Four bottles in a night, that will take some keeping up with! Mines a rum and coke.
Work Dad Hi Jess. Sounds like you're living life on the edge still but it seems that the drink is keeping you going. Have you heard the song about cigarettes, whiskey and wild wild women? 2 out of 3 aint bad! You haven't started smoking yet have you?! A couple of things you have to do in NZ. We went to see the penguins at Oamaru last night and went to shag point today. No it's not New Zealand's answer to Jennicliffe. It's a place where you can view fur seals and penguins, aswell as the shags! If you come down this way go and have a look. Hope you're still ok. Hello to everyone at work. WD.
workmum Hi work daughter and work husband, its alright for you two swilling whiskey and visiting shag point whilst your poor work mother/wife sits at home knitting and talking to the dog! As with work mum we have yet to visit Shag point, or any point for that matter. Keep on having a good time as February draws ever nearer. xxxxx
