The four of us continued to the Gilli Islands where even turning up on the boat it was incredible how blue the sea and white the sand was. Gilli T was such a small island that on the last day me and Rosie managed to cycle around the whole island, stopping at various bars and beaches, in about 3 hours.
On the first day we spent the majority of time on the beach to then head out that night. As it was Ramhadan it meant that the music stopped in all the bars at 11 but as we had met an Australian who was amazing at singing, it meant that we could stay in the bar listening to him and drinking until 6am.
I had bumped back into Joey the next day who was staying further up the beach so the next day I headed up there where nobody was around but 3 local Indonesians, 2 German boys, a French couple and an American. We watched the sunset and spent the night around a fire, doing magic mushrooms and listening to a combination of Reggae, German Electro music and Indonesian music. The German lads were the goodest, clean cut boys ever and bumping into the American the next day, found out one of them thinks he caught herpes from a joint and now refuses to talk to anybody.
The following day Lauren and Sabrina left for Lombok so me and Rosie hired bikes and toured the Island. We came across a Reggae bar which consisted of 6 complete Rastifarians who sing, drink and smoke the whole day. The only things available to get at the bar was beer, weed and mushrooms, no water. They were the friendliest people who we stayed with and sang UB40 and Bob Marley before heading to the next bar to drink Mushroom shakes and dance to more UB40 and Fleetwood Mac. The night that followed was very much a blur that resulted in me and Rosie both waking up with a single dreadlock in our hair. That wont come out.
The next day I headed to Lombok as Rosie left for Australia. But the Gilli's were beautiful, with lovely locals and great atmosphere :)
