The night in the Capsule commenced being a bit stressful with Bianca and I scared of the sounds around us and we were a little bit claustrophobic. But we ended up sleeping and it was one of the best sleeps I had during the trip so we decided to spend the next two nights. Also because we are lazing and couldn't be bothered to move our bags down so many stairs. We dressed and organised ourselves going to the bus station with a breakfast package the hostel had given us as we were leaving early in the morning. We went to local bus station which was pretty crazy but we found our bus as we started our very long 3 hour journey squished to Dambula. It was so cheap 100rs ($1). The bus was hot and sweaty but we weren't the only foreigners as we were going Sigiriya Rock. We arrived and the rock was surrounded by some water and a beautiful park with monkeys. We sussed out price for the walk up mountain but it was $30Us which we thought was ridiculous. We had also heard there was another rock near by and only $5aus to climb. So we Tuktuk there (1.5km) Pidurangala Rock. What a fantastic decision it was a much easier walk, much cheaper, quieter, included some rocking and once up the top included a view of Sigiriya Rock. So good!! We spent time at the top of Pidurangala Rock enjoying the views. It was so windy! We had spoken to people who had walked both and everyone agreed Pidurangala Rock was far better. We went back down and caught a Tuktuk back to Dambula then taking the bus back to Kandy. We made it back to Kandy so much faster than we thought we would so we had time to see a cultural dance and music show. It was positioned next to the tooth temple and cost 1,000rs. The show went from 5-6pm and was fantastic we got a brochure outlining what the different dances meant. Some performances included fire twirling and the last performance involved walking on hot coals. We were happy we went to the show. We then met up with some of Bianca's old work friends and a girl who I went to university with. We went to a dinner place that was recommended but it was like a Sri Lanakan vegetarian McDonalds. I had some fried rice it was super spicy. We then went to 'The Pub' for some drinks (pineapple juice), then home for sleep in our capsules.
