So yet again....
I have left it really long to write yet another entry- I do apologise I am just crap at keeping up to date!!
After the busy week that was my birthday and then the melbourne cup- things seemed to settle down a bit.. On the Wenesday had to get up at the crack of dawn for work as we had a house athletics day with Caulfield school (where i do most my coaching with camp australia) Despite coping most of the day with very little sleep and slightly dehydrated overall it was quite fun! and we were sent home early which was even better! Then went straight to training and collapsed as soon as I got into my front door!!
The rest of week was slightly calm after the whirlwind of the melbourne cup day until saturday that was... One of the girls from Hollys swim team were able to get free tickets for the stakes day at the races carnival. So being typical girls, myself, Holly and Becca wanted to dress up again and go back to Flemington race track for Stakes day. This was considered more the family event and was quite fun- more so from the entertainment that is holly (she didnt have training on sunday and was able to drink for a change!!) We had a really lush meal at federation square and then went out for some drinks with steve and shamit too. After a bit of an ordeal with Holly later in the night (again herself hugging the loo) everything was fine. Holly even woke up Sunday morning bright as a daisy! alright for some!!
Last week things were a lot more back to "normal" if you can call what im doing out here as normal lol!! I had such a good week with training that everything is really going well at the moment! We had a really good week with the weather also, with most days hitting the 30+ degrees!! On The Tuesday Matt Pell our mentor had arranged a 20/20 match with our boys to play cricket match against some of his local mates- unfortunately (or fortunately really) in my case i was not able to go as i had training. The girls later informed that i really did not miss much and they vowed never to go again lol!! But im sure it was good really!!
As for the rest of week i was completely focused on training really and saving my money for this weekend as it is Holly's birthday! Holly also had her parents over for 5 days- they left for Sydney on Tuesday so she saw them everyday and me and Becca got a free muffin every morning for breakfast- was great!!
I then raced on Saturday at Williamstown for the local league meet. I felt really good as had such a good weeks training. I was on track to beat my pb in the 400m hurdles, yet it was sooo windy that I just missed. Oh well I have two meets coming up in 3 days so I should hopefully be able to do it!!
Saturday night we then stayed up to watch england vs the wallabies (aussies) rugby union match. We thought we couldnt do any worse than the league- as union is sooo much better! Oh how i was wrong!! After us having a close lead after half time, this didnt last too long and the Wallbies then turned around to beat us! Oh well at least I wasnt at Twickenham watching the defeat!
I will leave it there for now and will try my best to catch up by the end of this week! hope every one at home is well- i miss you all! Hope all the training is going well SLH and I am loving the naked calander! Mavis sent me a news clipping!! Take care xxxxx
