Today we went into the pineforest and went mushrooming. We were looking for 'Saffron Milk Cups' which are orange fleshy mushrooms about 30cm wide (they were accidentally introduced to Australia when they bought in the pine trees). Visited scenic world and went across on the skyway, the glass went clear as we crossed so we could see Katoomba Falls below us. Next we went to Echo Point and saw the three sisters, decided to hike down the Giant Staircase (900steep steps down to the valley) and walked 6km across the valley floor to the old coal train (this is the worlds steepest railway and tourists can ride in it down the cliff face). This morning we were up early to go on our 'National Pass' hike. It has been classified as hard but has won an award for being a great walk. The hike took us over Wentworth Falls then out onto a ledge (as per photo) of the cliff face - which was horribly scary!! The ledge was about 80mtrs in length then turned into a really steep descent down to the bottom of the falls. Oh my god so hung over, been awake since 4pm...silly us broke rule #1 and camped next to main road and the train tracks!!
