Thanks to the precendant set by Ryan and Sarah, I am obligated to keep a a blog, or face the rath of Emma when I get back.
So I passed the seat belt test and they let me on the plane. 4.5 hours to Toronto, and 6.5 hours to London. I slept as much as I could, but i forgot how loud those bloody things are and they were showing National Treasure on the plane...Mariss, you know how I feel about that movie. I've decided that people who tell you they love flying are either flying first class...or lying.
I met a really cute old couple from Toronto on the plane and chatted with them alot. I landed at 6:30 am, made it through customs and then Nick picked me up, which is great, because I couldn't figure out what numbers I had to dial to call a UK number in the UK.
I got back to the village I'm staying in, had a cup of tea and then chatted with the people I'm staying with for a bit. I went across the street and bought chocolate bars, which are so cheap and delicious. I was exhausted but didn't want to spend the day in bed so I headed into London. I took the tube to Picadilly circus and wandered around oxford street, regent street. I stopped for lunch at Marks and Spencers because I really wanted a cheese and pickle sandwich. I had to hunt but I found it-Naomi I know you understand that.
I went to traflaga sqaure, stopped in at the national gallery, and because I'm a poli sci nerd-down whitehall to Downing street. I tried to take a photo of the cabinet ministers house but got told off. There are no garbage bins anywhere, as they are a terrorist threat... and its really annoying because you have to lug your trash with you.
I'm going to go back to the national gallery again, because I was so tired I could barely walk back to the tube station. I got back to the house and had dinner. The people I'm staying with are lovely. We had a good chat and then I watched the barcelona game. Well most of it. I made it until 9pm but then I had to sleep...so I passed out. Basically i had a mini coma and slept for 11 hours.
After breakfast (oatibix, not quite weetabix. As Ben said this is oats, that is wheat) I'm off to the British museum. I'm going to stop at this famous pub downtown for lunch because I want pub food. I have to wait until 9:30 to miss rush hour. It's raining and cold here, so basically the same as Vancouver.
Will update again soon.
Miss you all!
Jenny
