Hello Family,
Work this week was good. We had a huge conference on Tuesday, but thanks to weeks of planning it went extremely well. My research project is starting to get off the ground as well. The original idea behind my project was given to us by one of our Board members, so yesterday I went to her office to talk with her about it. I was quite nervous, but it went well (and I got some free chocolate out of it).
Last night, me and my roommate Katelyn went to a festival called Taste of London. It is a big festival where about 40 of London's nicest restaurants and another hundred vendors get together and sell food in Regent's park every summer. The food and drink was amazing, and there was so much of it that it took us a couple hours just to see it all. The best part though was that Katelyn works for a company that owns three of the restaurants that were there so we got in for free and had all of our food and drinks paid for. It was quite possibly the coolest thing that I have been to so far in London because it wasn't just a tourist site, it was full of regular Londoners too.
Today we went to the Aquarium and then walked along the south side of the Thames River. It wasn't a very nice day though so we didn't spend as much time down there as we had planned on. Before we came home though, we swung by Abbey Road and took pictures of the infamous Abbey Road Studios. There were too many cars to have time to imitate the famous picture of the Beatles crossing Abbey Road, but we did our best.
Tomorrow we are headed out to a couple more markets to see a different part of London, and on Monday I am going to go down and explore the financial district.
I will probably post pictures on Monday so that I can post the whole weekend at the same time.
Sorry this is a short post, but its probably welcome compared to some of my really long ones. Miss you all and love you!
Cheers,
Jen
