We have finally settled down and found a internet cafe to update everyone on our travels. I´ll try and quickly catch you up on these past weeks.
Guanajuato and San Miguel were the two cities the Lueje Ruiz family sent us too when our flight was cancelled to Puerto Vallarta. Daniel, their driver, was nice enough to drive us all the way to Guanajuato, which was 4 hours from Mexico City. This town was full of young people as there was a festival in town. The town itself was pretty interesting, it was built with an underground road system. You could walk almost anywhere in the town, Corey and I were able to take this strange glass elevator/gondala to one of the highest points in the town to see the city and its surrounding mountains. ( We´ll post pictures later) Anyway, we stayed here for two nights, enjoyed the worst pizza ever (it was made with hotdog wieners) and had a very unpleasant dinner ( eg. hair, kraft singles cheese, canned mushroom soup). Besides that everything was great. There were fireworks, live music, acrobatics, and mariachi bands.
We then bussed to San Miguel de Allende where we spent 1 night. It was full of Americans and Europeans which, in turn, drove the prices of everything up...Except beer, which was $5 for a 6 pack. We briefly checked out the small town which consisted of many, many churches.
We left the next day back to Mexico City, upon arrival we were imediately filed into the van to head to the family´s ranch...
