This past weekend just flew by! The Lueje Ruiz family took us on a family road trip to a couple nearby towns in two boardering states. We started in the state of Morelos, in a town called Tepaztlan. It was a tiny town full of Mexican culture, it was surrounded with mountains and jungle. Gabriella calls it the "magic town." We spent our first night enjoying the beautiful hotel and the eachothers company. After supper we we able to watch a storm roll in over the mountains which quickly made its way to the hotel. It was a complete torrential downpour. It was awesome!
The next day we walked through the town, exploring all the markets, churches and the delicious food. We then made our way to the next city, Taxco. It was unbelievable to say the least, check the photos! It was located on a mountain side and is well known for its silver porducts. On our way into the town we were bombareded by children who ran with our van trying to take us on a tour for money. That night was relaxing, we ate dinner and swam with the boys. We walked through the city the next day and checked out all the shops, the locals here we very persistant in trying to get us into their shops.
We then made our way home to Mexico City. The Lueje Ruiz family had bought tickets for Corey and I for my brithday to a Mexican Ballet called Folklorico de Mexico. It was amazing! The costumes were beautiful, so colourful and authentic. I would not have considered this a ballet the way we know it, it was very high energy, lots of tap dancing, traditional dances, tribal dances, drums, singing and mariachi bands.
Corey and I have decided to stay another week here, I´m sure you can see why. Next weekend we will be going to their ranch. We´ll post again soon!!
Buenos tardes.
