We arrived at the Powdermills Bunkhouse around 9pm at at the start of the Shipston U14 rugby tour. Tomorrow the boys will partake of "A Day on The Rocks" with the instructors of Spirit of Adventure. On Sunday we'll return home via Chard Rugby Club where they'll hopefully enjoy a great game of rugby.
Setting off for Alicante from Birmingham with BMI Baby was a surprisingly stress free affair. I had booked a meet and greet parking service at the airport which worked well. There were no queues at all for check-in and only about three people ahead of me at security, so I was in the departure lounge very quickly. Nicki took the boys to the exhibition of Quentin Blake's art at Compton Verney. As well as an excellent cartoon drawing workshop session they had an excellent meal, bothi interms of quality and value.
On Saturday afternoon we visited Broadway Tower. The views from the tower were amazing; apparently you can see 11 counties from the top. There was also the option of visiting a nearby nuclear bunker as well. The bunker location was originally used as an aircraft observation point during the war. It became one of about 1500 nuclear bunkers which would be used to measure and monitor the effects of a nuclear bomb being dropped. The tour was quite interesting, alt...
