So I have decided to keep a blog of my Thailand travels. Partly for my own memories, but more so for my daughter so that she can follow along and see how wonderful our world is with the hopes that one day she too will have the "travel bug" and explore the world herself. Also, I don't have to email multiple friends and family, you all can just log on and see what I am up to !

So, it all started with a very long haul from Toronto to Washington, on to Tokyo and then finally Bangkok ! I am also traveling to Chiang Mai and Koh Samui on this trip.

I will try to keep this some what updated every few days as time and wifi permit :)

First two days have been interesting with jet lag, 12 hour time difference, visiting a friend here an checking out the local night life as well as the Grand Palace and China Town.

Bangkok is an assault on all of my senses..... I have seen things I would never imagine were capable, things of beauty, things that I would also rather not see (poverty, dirtyness, red light districts) all part of the adventure I suppose ! smells of incense, smells of sewage..... Bangkok has it all, and so far LOS (land of smiles) as it is known has not disappointed. It truly is a beautiful city with very friendly people who prove daily that you do not need much to truly live happily. Having said that I'm looking forward to moving on to the north country via train tomorrow to Chiang Mai.
