Mountain climbing ! I've sent the last few days exploring the island - drove around it in about 2 hours and then started going into the mountains. I found a road ( for lack of better term, more of a trail ) that rises up 2000 feet to the top of on of these hills - great experience , but should have rented a dirt bike, the scooter took a beating :) anyway, at the top there is a huge standing temple in the middle of no where.... Koh Samui ! Had a quick flight 1 and 1/2 hours from Chiang Mai to Koh Samui arriving yesterday afternoon. Not a great start to my holiday here - rented a scooter for the week and on my first outing I was chased by a stray dog that made me swerve into a brick wall and skin my knee and leg - first visit to the pharmacy for some first aid supply's and I patched myself up pretty good. Guess I will call it my "Samui Tattoo" ...... Hopefully that is the end of my bad...

I love Chiang Mai ! Much better then Bangkok, smaller and a lot of history. The surrounding country side is beautiful as well as the "old city" in the centre which is still surrounded by walls. I decided to rent a scooter for my four days here, what a blast ! It is quite easy to get around and I only got lost twice before some what knowing my way around.
