Koh Samui !
Had a quick flight 1 and 1/2 hours from Chiang Mai to Koh Samui arriving yesterday afternoon.
Not a great start to my holiday here - rented a scooter for the week and on my first outing I was chased by a stray dog that made me swerve into a brick wall and skin my knee and leg - first visit to the pharmacy for some first aid supply's and I patched myself up pretty good. Guess I will call it my "Samui Tattoo" ...... Hopefully that is the end of my bad fortune and the rest of the week will go smoothly !
Took in my first Muay Thai fights last night, pretty cool and very entertaining. They had two kids fight, then two females and finally to men. The first two were decided on points, but the last fight was knock -out, I would not want to be hit with one of their leg kicks ....I also enjoyed some "street meat" for dinner - a plate of Pad Thai for 1.50, it was fantastic !

I am going to spend the next few days exploring the island, there is a lot to see in a small area - you could probably drive around it in 2-3 hours. So far it's beautiful though, lots of palm trees and very lush, and the beach looks amazing.
