After so many days of constant sunshine and just when I was starting to wonder why we were carrying rain coats with us, the sky bursted open and gave us it's best showers.
It began 2 days ago when we were staying at a camping ground just north of Rimini. We were woken at around 5 o'clock to raindrops falling on our tent. It seemed to have passed by the time we were to set off for the day, but just half an hour later, it started pouring down again. This time though, it didn't stop. On went our raincoats and we kept on biking and getting wetter every minute. Sadly enough we had a long trip planned of about 100 km, so when we stopped for lunch and to dry up a bit, we still had lots of km ahead of us.
By the time we arrived at the camp ground, the sky cleared up just long enough for us to pitch our tent. We cooked ourselves some pasta and had hot chocolate milk before turning into our nice and warm sleeping bags and fade of to sleep with the sound of the rain falling on our tent.
The next morning started out the same way, a bit of rain, though it did feel less heavy and in the distance we could see the sun slowly breaking through the clouds. Once it was time to have lunch, it had all cleared up. So out came our sunnies again and we could start climbing in a radiant sun.
In the meantime we've already covered about 1350 km and are on our way to Montelparo where we will meet Sira's sister and stay for a couple of days.
