Hello from down under!
We landed safely yesterday after a short flight from NZ and are staying in a nice hostal called Easy Go Backpackers :)
Today was our first day in OZ! We woke up early and it was suuuuppeer sunny which was really good! We decided we would go to central sydney and seee everything today! We arrived to the Opera House and Bridge by the river and it was sooooo coool! Its really amazing! Adam found it really strange being back here and I found it really strange seeing it! We caught the ferry to Darling Harbour and brought a 3 way attraction pass for the Aquariam, Zoo and Observatory tower.
The ferry was fun! I have been wanting to go on a boat since we started travelling and we finally have! We got a little guided tour and saw the sites on the way, it was sooooo windy though and you blew everywhere if you stood up!
We went to the zoo first as I was SO excited to see a Koala! It was called Wildlife World and had loads of reptiles, snakes etc THEN we got to the Koala Sanctuary!! We watched a talk on Koalas which was intrersting, can you beleive they sleep for 18-22 hours a DAY!!!!!! & the lady asked if any of us wanted to go in and stroke the koals and have your picture taken, you had to pay, Adam didnt do it because he had already done it, but I was won over by their cuteness! There were about 15 kids around and I was the one going into the sanctuary and I felt like a kid! It was so so so so so so so so so SO worth it! They were reallly soft and I had my picture taken by the lady and will show you it all when im home! Deffinitley worth the money though :) It felt like really soft felt and it was so cute sleeping away!! We also saw Kangaroos jumping around which was pretty funny and cute little wallabys. There was a HUGEEEEEEE crocodile and it yawned and had its mouth open for like 5 minutes. They also had a butterfly sanctuary you could go into, it made me think of you Nicola! There were hundreds of stunning butterflys, huge ones! flying everywhere and if you put your hand out they came and landed on you if you kept it really still which was fun :)
We then went to the Aqauriam which is handily right next door :) They had loads of mini turtles Callum but NONE were as cute as Munchman :) they also had a HUGE turtle though! Ill try upload a picture :).
The aqauriam had lots of walk through tunnels, and huge sharks! They really really care about sharks over here & are desperate to set up a conservation to keep them out of danger.
After those we walked around Sydney for a bit and went up to the bridge, its really big and we are hoping to come back and climb the bridge when we come back to Sydeney before we fly from Sydney APT :) Tonight at sunset we are going to go up to the Observatory tower and take pictures which we are excited for and tommorow the Opera house! So will have lots to blog about tommorow :)
So glad the weather is nice too! Apparently its been raining in Australia for 3 weeks straight and now its meant to be nice for ages so we are hoping to catch some gooood weather out here and do lots! Were not sure where were going to go from Sydney, think we will either be venturing to Wagga Wagga first or maybe up the coast to Coffs Harbour etcetc.
youll all probaly be getting up right now so have good days :)
Lots of love xxxxx
