Hey everyone!
We arrived here safley eventually after a few nightmares such as heathrow sending my bags off with the wrong label, our flight to ethoipia being delayed die to the french air traffic control going on strike and soa new route had to be found which didnt ionclude goingover france. THEN when we arrived in ethiopia after our 9 hour flight they didnt have our boarding passesso we hadtofollow and ethipoian man round the airport until he eventually found someone to hand write them for us...we were then waiting for our flight to kilimanjaro andi was busy picking the mosquito bite which i had somehow already aquired on my knee when when another ethipoian man strated shouting at us saying we'd almost missed ourflight and should have listened to the announcments (which werent in enlish) anyway we got on the flight which turned out to be the wrong one anyway becasue it didnt stop in kenya onthe way like it was meant to and arrived two hours early in kili (we'dgot ont eh earlier flight)On the plane we didnt getto sit together andi sat next to a crazy man and ended up having an argument with him about whether or not the mountain we could see out the window was Kili (it blatently was because it had snowon the top) hje also said we werelikethe girls from sex and the city and he knew where st.albans was... anyway it didnt matter in the end and amazingly all our bags arrived!!
Freddy (our work the world guide) met us from the airport and on the drivetothe house started givingus a swahili lesson i am now fluent as ican say 'Jambo!' (hello) and 'mambo' (wazzup!' and aconamatata (no worries) im basically an african now.
The house is AMAZING even better than the pictures and everyone is so friendly and theres mango and avocado trees in the garden!!! had a bbq on our balcony last night (it wasnt made out of a trolley though) and had the best kebabs i had ever had in my life...it puts abduls to shame. The students who are already here are really cool and include two americansand a scottish girl but theres more to arrive soon.
Woke up to the sound of heavy rain this moring and had fresh fruit for breakfast and waited for the rain to stop so we could go on a tour round arusha. It stoppped and now its sunny. My legs are covered in mud as i chose to wear flipflops on the walk to town which was like a swamp (dont worry Ba they're not the nice ones you bought me) I have so much to say but icant remember now because my internet moneys running out and we've got to go aND cvhange our money into tanzanian shillings...50p=1000 shillings in goingto feel rich.
