Still at cousin Gillian's in Beverley (near York) and no access to my photos on my computer, so hence the libary photo above of London - wont be there for a few days yet.
We had a good day today. Jan and Kevin who are travelling around UK as well are staying within cooeee of Beverley in York. So we left fairly early this morning and drove the 35 minutes or so to the nearest York park and ride, took the park and ride bus into York, and spent the day with them. First stop coffee and a good old catch up on their trip so far. We then all went on a river cruise. By this time the weather was lovely and fine and very warm out of the wind. We stopped for the requisite pint over lunch and then to the Jorvik Centre which is a reconstruction of an early Viking settlement found during excavation in about 1970. There is a mobile train arrangement which takes you through various stages of the Viking occupation depicting all aspects of life and work of the time. All very realistic and informative (even if I didnt take half of it in and forgot most of by the time I got outside). History never was my strong point. Well
worth the visit though.
We wandered around the town and up and down the Shambles then found a cafe for a cold drink before we parted again, to meet up in a couple of weeks in Paris. A lovely day.
Back to David and Gillians and yet another lovely home cooked meal (Salmon) and loads of vegetables again.
Off to Baldock tomorrow to spend a few days with cousin Brenda and Fred then on to London.
Lovely to hear from you today Sue, sorry I couldnt hear you too well with all the hundreds of people milling around in the streets of York.
Pleased David is now on to the right treatment and hopefully feeling better.
Lots of love to you all,
