W: Yesterday we visited Alcatraz which was well worth the trip. The weather had cleared so good views of the whole Bay area and Golden Gate bridge. Got the 7pm Air NZ flight and arrived in Auckland at 5am. Gained a day which no matter how much you understand the theory is still really wiered. Met by driver at the airport and transferred to our ferry which took about 40 minutes to get over to Waiheke Island. The hotel is lovely 5 rooms with views high across the bay. Had a walk around the local shops and along the beach. Just got to wait for dinner now..its a hard life! Sorry just been reminded that the hotel have a miniture schnauzer called Rupert ...its that sort of place.
