Wow... Wow... Wow
Atlantic City is unreal, it is the best city I've visited in my life!
On Friday night (4th of July) the rest of the camp went to a baseball game at around 6pm. We had the camp to ourselves for 40 mins, some of the girls took advantage of this and ran into boys camp... oo naughty. We had hired a bus to take us to Atlantic city. That costs 74 bucks door to door, Its about a 2 hour drive.
Halfway there the bus stopped at a Wawa (a convenience store chain, cheap as though pringles were like 1.50). We also got some drinks cus the bus driver let us drink on the bus which was unreal. We got to Atlantic City around 9pm. As soon as we got into the city the place looked amazing. Its similar to Surfers Paradise, but hundreds of shops about 4 big casinos (from what I could tell) and some more shops.
We stayed at the cheapest place in town and cramed about 5 people in each room. Had a really wild night Friday night mainly just stayed at the hotel cus alcohol was so cheap and 90% of the people were underage. I hit a casino on Friday night for a little while. It was no different to Sydney Casino, just more pokies.
Saturday I spent the day with some of the girls and we just shopped the whole time. (shock me that I hung out with girls, but they're all very pretty so why would you hang out with dudes when you can hang out with chicks?). I'm not much of a shopper and I don't like buying things I dont need.... but this place was incredible! We went to a mall that had so many shops and everything was cheap. I bought some Levi's for $29... Then we went to some outlets which were all inwalkng distance and pretty much any name brand had an outlet there. Just all on the streets, it was incredible and unbelievably cheap. I bought a killer pair of Nike's ($70) which you will see in the photos and a Tshirt ($8). I could have spent so much more money, but I simply didnt need anything!
I went for a swim at the beach, but it wasn't incredibly hot. The sand was really dirty and had lots of shells everywhere, and the water was freezing. Surf was small but had potential. The most interesting thing though was the surf rescue boats. They're massive row boats! Have a look at the pics when I get them up, they're ridiculous, I spoke to the lifeguards for a bit and they liked the idea of motor boats!
Saturday night saw some more drinking and more gambling. It was a long night of drinking games, but it seemed no matter how much I drank I couldnt get drunk. They were really strict with I'Ds and drinking esp bottle shops and even the casinos. But you could walk right onto the casino floor without a security guard even looking at you. Bit of a contrast to Sydney Casino. Naturally all the underages took full advantage of this. I slept on the floor Saturday night, it was pretty comfortable not cus I was drunk cus there was nowhere to sleep.
Sunday just saw more shopping, a few lies on the beach and lots of walking.
Got back to camp really really tired, need two more days off to recover from my days off. There is lots more to tell, but I figure thats long enough. Will try and get photos up soon.
