Today was unimaginably difficult. 99km in the blistering sun, up and down hills that were literally miles long.
The scenery has been spectacular, but you cannot avoid the knowledge that you are cycling every inch of it.
Many of us (perhaps a third) suffered with heat stroke, sickness, headaches and dizziness, becoming a normal feature of the ride.
There is no shade, none at all, and we cycled from 730am til about 5pm.
This is the hardest thing I have ever done, and by a factor that I cannot even begin to compute.
Tomorrow is a shorter day, with only 58km - and hopefully we will be done by about 2pm..
Crossing the equator was a magical moment - too tired to write more.
