Above, you will see my faithful companion for the next week, I have named her porsche
It has been a very long first day, travelling for what seemed like a lifetime, a bike fitting, and then a short 2km ride, to the site of Baden Powell's grave, just to check that the bikes are ok - porsche did just fine!
The scariest part though has to have been the realisation that we are actually going ahead and doing this now. The hills are seriously formidable, and the road surfaces (how can I put this charitably?) DIRE!
The temperature first thing in the morning is really nice, and I hope we can get a good amount done during those hours, because by mid afternoon it is blistering.
All the other ladies seem really good fun, and there is already a sense of comradeship amongst us.
Tomorrow is meant to be one of our toughest days, so we are all a little apprehensive at the moment. But then it wouldn't be a challenge if you knew you could do it.
Just wiling away an hour before dinner, then a meeting to give us more information about tomorrow's ride - then an early night methinks!

I know you will give it your best. A bit of info for anyone having trouble posting a comment... At the top of the page it says "visit old site" post work there
Mum So glad you all arrived safely, and I'm sure you're all tired after all that travelling. I like the name porsche for your bike, great name. Hope you both get on well together over the next week. Have a good rest tonight, will be thinking of you tomorrow. Hope the roads will be good to you and the wind will always be at your back. Take care xxxx
