We drove from Magherafelt into the Irish Republic (changing from British pounds to Euros) - County Donegal - on our way to the Inishowen Peninsula and our destination for the next two nights - The Redcastle Inn near the town of Moville. The road skirted the city of Londonderry (we have been there many times on previous trips) and we continued up the coastal road. We drove through Moville (too early for check in) and continued along the water to Inishowen Head. The homes along the route are lovely and we think many of them are vacation homes.
We stopped at Big Bens Bar & Bistro where we had a wonderful lunch - me - seafood chowder; Rusty - Steak and Guinness Pie. The interior of the bar was gorgeous. The owner was very interested in helping us locate the town cemetery which is built above the town with stunning views to the ocean. The dead folks are joined by sheep which live there and keep the grass nicely mowed.
We also were able to drop off our week's worth of laundry at the launderette in Moville. For 12 euros we had two loads finished and folded and ready to pick up in about two hours.
The Redcastle Inn is located outside of the town of Moville - and is also a spa and golf club. We are staying here as part of a "Living Social" package which appeared on the internet when I changed our city from Boulder to Belfast.
